ART

The Art Curriculum

Our Art curriculum offers every student the opportunity to experience the joy of artistic expression, communicate ideas visually and forge meaningful connections with diverse art forms and cultures. Aligned with the goals of 21st Century Competencies (21CC), the programme spans Primary 1 to 6, nurturing students' creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and communication skills. Through varied artistic experiences, students learn to express themselves creatively, analyse visual messages critically and work collaboratively to create meaningful artwork.

The curriculum emphasises the study of local artwork and artists, deepening students' understanding of our national identity and cultural heritage. Art discussions enhance visual literacy and articulate expression, whilst the creative process cultivates imagination and innovation—essential qualities for navigating future challenges. Our Art programme supports holistic development by engaging both mind and heart, empowering students to become confident and connected learners.

1. Museum Based Learning P4 Learning Journey will provide students with authentic art engagement sessions to promote discussions and critical thinking in a museum setting.
2. Animation P5 Stop Motion Programme introduces students to digital art form and how technology c. an be incorporated into the art.
3. Photography The P6 Photography Programme engages students in exploring photography using iPads, encouraging them to capture artistic elements such as lines, colors, and shapes in their surroundings.
4. Art Fiesta Our annual Art Fiesta serves as a vibrant platform where students unite to design the cover for the school handbook. Following the competition, students participated in a variety of creative booth activities, skillfully facilitated by our dedicated student councilors.
5. In House Art Exhibition The display of students' talent within the school community serves as a dynamic platform where students can proudly showcase their creative creations. This vibrant showcase not only highlights the artistic skills and imagination of our young artists but also fosters a sense of community and shared pride among students, teachers, and parents. By providing an opportunity for students to share their work, we encourage creativity, self-expression, and confidence, while celebrating the diverse talents that enrich our school environment.
